Please remember that this Sunday (31/08/08), everyone will have to bring along a new song to share, whether in the existing song booklet or not.

Email me, if possible the lyrics by Saturday so that i can compile together…safe more paper…and if you feel that you can sing solo for us to hear, then bring along the MP3 of it, can be in a mp3 player with a  3.5 audio port for the speaker you see dangling on the wall in our room, or get someone to play on the keyboard!

* Pls email Ying Ning if you do not have a suitable MP3 player…

We welcome both English and Chinese songs, because we are bilingual!

hello everybody!

yeah it’s time of the year again! it’s National Day!!!
ok i not that patriotic, but rem last ND? yeah it’s time to come n watch national day parade at my hse again~!

yeah and it’s the final chance to catch fireworks live fr my balcony~! (yah they’re building 3 blocks of 34-storey condos right in front of my hse from this yr end.. next year i’ll stare into my neighbour’s tv for NDP.)

Date: 9 Aug, Saturday (if u dunno this date u better restart ur whole NE course)
Time: 5pm (tentative; if u all wana come earlier watch movie or meet outside earlier i’m definitely fine with it.. any suggestions? i’ll order dinner early.. either pizza (i already haf a couple of pamphlets), western (remember last yr?) or anything from the food court downstairs my hse.. i might cook / do something if i’m free (like boil… water)

Don’t worry that there’ll be too many pl and not enuf space to watch tv.. there’s live telecast online i can always stream video via my laptop simultaneously.

Special concession for muggers: yeah muggers, if u wana mug on a public holiday (ahem. tsk.), you are welcome to come to my hse as early as you want to start ur mugging b4 our “event”. I haf >3 desks, 1 dining table, 1 big round table, 3 fans, x lights at ur disposal. (yes. i haf more desk than pl at home. so *please use them*)

it’s been very long since we last updated this place! Haha
Anyway, this is a quick post on a prayer request regarding Ming En.

Our beloved brother-in-Christ had always been troubled about his school and his class environment;
some of us here may know that he tries hard to be as much of a Christian as he can
but we are all young and weak,
and the best solution to this is always to get out of such an environment.

Currently, he is studying very hard in hopes of transferring to Nan Chiau using this exam’s results.
So this is an earnest request to all of you, all of us in the Fellowship, to show him our genuine support.

We might not be able to contribute much to his transfer directly,
but prayer is a powerful tool that should not be underestimated.
I hope that we can all come together and pray for our brother here,
and all witness the power of prayer and petition.

I’m sure God will listen
and do what He deems best.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.”  –1 John 5: 14-15 (NIV)

If you’re not sure how to go about this, pray for

• Perseverance & patience when studying/revising his work
• Good memory so that he can remember what he learns/revises
• Clarity of mind so that he knows how to answer the exam questions
• Peace of the heart, that he wouldn’t worry unduly and place his faith in God
• Wisdom & obedience in this whole matter; how he perceives things, how he wants his life to be etc.
• (Most importantly,) Unwavering faith in our Lord, that through this he would learn to trust God and no matter the outcome, he would not lose sight of God’s ultimate goodness

I’m quite certain that this is a huge milestone for him
both academic-wise and faith-wise.
So let us all hold him up through our prayers, and really pray hard that he will learn to place his faith in God regardless of life’s situations.

Lastly, this would be a good time to show him some tangible care & concern
by talking to him and encouraging him during this important period.

Ming En’s counting on us!
